At A-MAX Insurance Services, Inc. (“A-MAX”, “we”, “us”, or “our”), respecting the privacy and security of your personal information is central to our core values.   When you communicate with us, including about the products or services we offer, you're trusting us with that information.  We take this responsibility seriously and have provided this Privacy Policy to explain our commitment to you regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of personal information that we may collect anytime you interact with us.  Please take a moment to carefully read this Privacy Policy to learn more about our information practices, including the types of information we collect, how the information is used and for what purposes, to whom we disclose the information, and how we safeguard your personal information.

What Information Does A-MAX Collect? 

The types of information A-MAX collects vary upon your interaction with us.  

Non-Personal Information.  We collect non-personal information.  Non-personal information does not and cannot be used to reveal an individual's identity. Some examples of non-personal information include aggregated information, anonymized information about our users, and other information that does not identify any individual.

Personal Information.  A-MAX also collects personal and other information about you. Personal information is information that identifies, relates to, describes, is reasonably capable of being associated with, or could reasonably be linked (directly or indirectly) with you.  

PLEASE NOTE THAT OUR OFFERINGS, INCLUDING THE SITE ARE NOT INTENDED FOR CHILDREN OR INDIVIDUALS UNDER THE AGE OF 18. WE DO NOT MARKET ANY PRODUCTS OR SERVICES TO, OR KNOWINGLY COLLECT ANY INFORMATION FROM CHILDREN OR INDIVIDUALS UNDER THE AGE OF 18.

How Does A-MAX Collect Personal Information?

We (including through our service providers working on our behalf) collect personal information about you from several sources and in many forms. We collect personal information directly from you including when you (i) request a quote, register or apply for insurance coverage, including any related services, such as roadside assistance, (ii) make or communicate with us regarding a claim or coverage, such as engaging in claims handling or engage related services like roadside assistance (iii) inquire about, purchase or use any other products or services we offer, (iv) subscribe to a membership or mailing list, (v) complete a survey, response form, such as responding to a quality assurance or customer service inquiry (vi) set up an account with us, including registering to log in through our online portal (vii) enroll in a mobile app or online feature, visit our website, view or respond to our SMS (Short Message Service), MMS (Multimedia Message Service) text alerts, chat messages or emails, or otherwise engage with us through a computer or mobile device ("Sites"), such as IP address, read receipts, responses, metadata, browsing history and other internet activity information that, in each case to the extent that information identifies, relates to, describes, is reasonably capable of being associated with, or could reasonably be linked (directly or indirectly) with you. We collect this personal information through our Sites, when you visit one of our locations or offices, or when you call our agents or support associates. We also collect personal information about you from third parties such as consumer reporting agencies, service providers, marketing companies, and data providers.  

We will not collect, sell, share, or rent this information to others in ways different from what is disclosed in this Privacy Policy without your consent. Browsing history, search history, information regarding your interaction with our Site, applications or advertisements, linking behavior, web pages you visit while visiting our site or applications, browser type, internet service provider (ISP), cookies, and mobile device information including device identifier or other information.

Geolocation data

Profile data reflecting preferences, characteristics, psychological trends, predispositions, behavior, attitudes, intelligence, abilities, and aptitudes.

How Does A-MAX Use the Information It Collects?

A-MAX uses the information it collects to deliver a superior customer experience by enhancing the quality of our product and offerings and enabling us to give our customers convenient access to these offerings and focus on categories of greatest interest to them.  A-MAX may use the non-personal information it collects for any lawful purpose.  We use your personal information for our business purposes to help us keep you posted on the status of your claims, coverages and related services and the latest product and service developments that may be relevant to your needs, based on the information you provide.  When we communicate with you for the purposes described in this policy, we may do so by any permitted means, including in person during your visit to one of our locations or via telephone, mail or through the Sites, including through email or other available methods such as SMS or push notifications. Specific purposes for which we use personal information include: 

Requests, Inquiries and Purchases Regarding Products, Services and Enrollments.

  • When you request a quote, purchase insurance or any other products or services from us, or enroll in any of our product or service offerings, we use your personal information to respond to your request and provide or maintain your purchased services, products, and enrollments.  This use may include contacting out partner companies regarding the request policy information, registering you for a product or service or providing a product or service. 

  • We use your personal information to maintain your account, service your policy, process changes to your policy, process policy claim and other business transactions, and respond to customer service requests or other inquiries. 

  • We also use information collected about other parties from you to carry out necessary services and/or requests, such as changing policy holder information, adding a driver to your existing policy, or covered beneficiaries. If you provide us personal information about others, or if others give us your personal information, we will only use the information for the specific reason for which it was provided to us. 

  • When you provide your personal information to us, you are providing your consent to use of your personal information to communicate with you about your requests, inquiries, purchases and enrollments, such as providing you with transaction confirmations, payment reminders and alerts or other service or product related.  

Maintaining Accuracy of Your Information. 

  • We may receive personal information about you from other sources, such as publicly available databases or third parties from whom we have purchased data.

  • We may combine the personal information from such other sources with other personal information on file with us to update and maintain the accuracy of our records (e.g., obtaining change of address information from other sources to update our records).  To learn how you can update your information to help us maintain the accuracy of your information, see "How Can I Change or Update My Information?" below. 

Improving A-MAX Product and Service Offerings and Processes. We use your personal information along with other information to:

  • Analyze, improve, develop or deliver our products and services, including our Sites, and develop new services, products or features using algorithms, analytics software and other similar methods; conduct research to maintain, protect and develop our networks, services, Sites and products and protect our customers, such through as customer satisfaction surveys, and enhancements to the features and security of the Sites and our business processes; and assess how you and customers, prospects and visitors to the Sites utilize and interact with our offerings to improve products, services, Sites and our business process and to further enhance and personalize your experience.

Marketing and Promotional Purposes. 

  • We may use your personal information to send you marketing, advertising or promotional communications about products, services, features, and options customized to your interests or where we believe they may suit your needs. 

Compliance-Related Use.  

  • We may use your personal information to protect our company, our affiliates, our customers, our network and our Sites, including to comply with laws, regulations or other legal obligations, to assist in investigations and claims, to exercise and protect our rights and protect property or the rights of third parties, or to enforce terms and conditions applicable to you or others. 

  • We may also use your personal information to investigate and deter suspected fraud, misuse of our products or services, threats to our network or information, or other illegal activities, or for any other reason permitted by law.

Use of Location Data. 

  • Your location may be obtained [from the mobile device or the network using your device's Global Positioning System (GPS) functionality] or directly from you. 

  • We may use your location information to respond to your request for a quote, search for information such as you’re the most convenient A-MAX location or office, agent or service provider for you, determine the availability of product and service offerings to you, [or identify the location of an accident or roadside event you are reporting].

How is Personal Information Shared by A-MAX?

A-MAX will only share your personal information under the terms of this Privacy Policy.  As part of core values to respect our customer’s information, A-MAX strives to work with third parties who share our commitment to privacy. 

Business Sale.  Except as part of the sale of our business providing the products and services using your personal information, A-MAX will never sell your personal information to a third party. Personal information may be disclosed to third parties in connection with a corporate transaction, such as a merger, sale of any or all A-MAX assets or equity, reorganization, financing, change of control or acquisition of all or a portion of our business by an affiliate or third party, or in the event of a bankruptcy or similar proceedings. 

Independent Contractors and Affiliates.  We may share your personal information with our independent contractors, agents and affiliates for business purposes consistent with the uses described in this Privacy Policy. 

  • Consent.  We may also share personal information about you with third parties whenever you consent to or direct us to provide such information.  

  • Completing Transactions.  We may share information, including your personal with service providers and other third parties for business purposes or as required or permitted by law.  

    • A-MAX operates through independent third party agents and brokers who support our services and products on our behalf. We may share your personal information with those agents or brokers to provide you with the services you’ve requested. When they use your personal information, we authorize that use in the manner described in this Privacy Policy.  

      • We may share personal information with our business partners and insurance carriers for insurance underwriting and other business transactions related to our offerings.  For example, we may share your personal information with third parties that help to provide the products and services we offer, or that process our insurance quotes and transactions.  These third parties may include independent claims adjusters, towing companies, roadside assistance providers, auto repair shops and service providers, and other third parties that play a role handling your coverage and claims.  We may also share personal information for with service providers who perform services on our behalf for a business purpose to: 

      • • engage in credit reporting or payment processing;

      • • provide services through our Sites such as support for our online activities including providing tracking technologies, web hosting and analytics;

      • • provide tax and accounting, legal services, delivery, and data enhancement services;

        • provide technology services and enhance security, privacy and fraud protections;

        • provide data analytics services or conduct research activities for our business; and

        • provide general administrative support for A-MAX operations

  • Marketing Affiliates and Advertising Partners: We may share personal and other information with third party online and other marketing and advertising partners or permit these partners to collect personal information from you directly from our Sites to personalize marketing and advertising, email or other communication services that may be of interest to you. We may share personal information with other financial institutions or other companies with whom we have a joint marketing agreement. 

  • Compliance and Law Enforcement: Personal information may be disclosed to third parties, as required by law or subpoena, or if we reasonably believe such action is necessary to:

    • comply with the law and the reasonable requests of regulators, law enforcement or other public authorities,

    • protect our or others safety, rights or property, or

    • investigate fraud, misuse, or to protect the security or integrity of our products or services, including our Site.

How Does A-MAX Use Cookie and Tracking Technology?

As is common practice among insurance providers with an online presence, our Sites use “cookies” and other technologies to enhance the user experience of our Sites and to assess and improve the effectiveness of our customer communications.  We use these technologies to help us customize your experience and provide greater convenience each time you interact with us, to understand which parts of our Sites are popular, how our visitors use the Sites, including and how much time they spend there, and to better ensure that our online advertising is connecting customers with offerings that suit their needs.

Log Files.  

  • We gather certain information automatically and store it in log files. This information does not identify individual users, and includes Internet Protocol (IP) addresses, browser type, Internet Service Provider (ISP), referring/exit pages, operating system, date/time stamp, and clickstream data. 

    • We use log files to analyze trends, to administer our Site, to track users’ movements across our Site and to gather demographic information about our Site user base, as a whole. We do not use log files for direct marketing purposes.  

Click-Through Data.  

  • On our Site, including in some of our email and SMS messages we use a “click-through URL” linked to content on our Site. When customers click one of these URLs, they may pass through our web server or an exchange before arriving at the click-through destination. 

    • We track this click-through data to help us determine interest in particular information and measure the effectiveness of our customer communications.

Pixel Tags.  

  • Pixel tags, also known as “web beacons” are small graphic images embedded in web pages, e-mail messages, or advertisements that send information we use to identify the areas of our Site that customers have visited or to measure the effectiveness of searches customers perform on our site, including whether emails have been opened.  

    • We use this technology to better ensure that we’re sending messages that are of interest to our customers. We may also use this information to reduce or eliminate messages we send. 

How Is Personal Information Collected from Linked Websites and Social Media Features Provided through A-MAX’s Site?

From time to time, our Sites may provide social media features (e.g., YouTube videos, Twitter or Facebook widgets, etc…) and links to websites and services of other companies.  These features and websites linked from our Sites are provided solely as a convenience to you and are operated by independent third parties (e.g., YouTube, Twitter, Facebook, etc. as indicated).  A-MAX not responsible for these websites or features, or the privacy practices of such other websites.  When you use these links and features through our Sites, you leave our Sites and must be mindful that this Privacy Policy applies solely to information collected by our Sites where this Privacy Policy, or a link to this Privacy Policy appears.  When using these links and features, please read the privacy statements of each and every linked website or social media feature provider that collects personally identifiable information.

How Does A-MAX Secure My Personal Information?

  • A-MAX uses a combination of reasonable technical, administrative, and physical safeguards to protect the personal information we collect. 

    • When you submit personal information via the Sites or in response to telephone or in-person visits with A-MAX, their information is protected both online and off-line. 

      • When our registration/order form asks users to enter sensitive information (such as credit card number and/or social security number), that information is encrypted and is protected by strong SSL (secure socket layer) encryption. 

        • While on a secure page, such as our payment form, the lock icon on in the address bar or at the bottom of Web browsers appears as locked indicating this security feature, as opposed to un-locked, or open, when you are not on a secure page.  Please do not submit personal information on pages that do not contain this security icon. 

        • We use SSL encryption to protect sensitive information online, and implement internal controls designed to protect the physical aspects of our users' personal information and ensure our compliance with applicable state and federal laws. 

        • A-MAX uses internal controls to help ensure that employees are kept up-to-date on our security and privacy practices. Every quarter, as well as any time new policies are added, our employees are notified and/or reminded about the importance we place on privacy, and what they can do to ensure our customers' information is protected. 

        • The servers that we store personal information on are kept in a secure environment with limited access granted to administration personnel only. 

  • Please be advised that no website, mobile application, database, archive or system is completely secure or “hacker proof.” Despite the security measures that we implement, we do not and cannot guarantee its absolute security of the information we collect. 

  • You are also responsible for taking reasonable steps to protect your personal information against unauthorized disclosure or misuse, such as taking precautions to protect your data when you are on the Internet or using devices used to transmit information, using strong passwords and changing your passwords often.

  • You have the right to access and correct the personal information you have provided and can help us ensure that your personal information and preferences are accurate and complete by checking your account and profile information through our Sites. In addition, you can request a copy of your personal information, account history, and your interactions with our sales and support agents by contacting us at the address listed provided in How Do I Contact A-MAX Regarding My Privacy? below.

Can A-MAX Change the Terms of This Privacy Policy? 

We may change the terms of this Privacy Policy for any reason, at any time.  If our Privacy Policy changes, we will post those changes to this Privacy Policy, which you may access through our Sites.  

Notice To Residents of Selected States:

California:  As a California resident, you have the right to limit, access and delete personal information described in this section, and other rights described below. 

  • Verified requests: A-MAX will only respond to your access or deletion requests only where we are able to properly verify you identity, will ask you to provide personal information, such as name and demographic information for verification purposed only.  

    • To submit a request:  A-MAX is required to respond to one (1) verified request in any twelve-month period.  Please click here to submit an online request. Responses to a verified request may take up to 30 calendar days depending on the nature of the request. If additional time is needed, we will notify you of the additional time.

      • Right to access your personal Information: You have the right to request that we disclose certain information about our collection and use of your personal information over the past twelve months including: the specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you, the categories of personal information collected, the categories of sources from which personal information was collected, the business purpose for collecting the personal information, and the categories of third parties with whom we share personal information.

      • Right to deletion of personal Information: You have the right to request we delete personal information we collected. We will delete your personal information in response to a verifiable request unless needed to:

        • Complete a transaction for which we collected the personal information, provide a product or service you requested, take actions reasonably anticipated within the context of our ongoing business relationship with you, or otherwise perform our contract with you, Protect and pursue enforcement against fraudulent, malicious or illegal activity, Maintain and support functionality of our Sites, Exercise or ensure the exercise by other customers of any lawful right provided under applicable law, including rights of free speech or expression, Comply with legal obligations, or Otherwise use your personal information for our internal business purposes, in a lawful manner that is consistent with or useful within the surrounding circumstances of your provision of such information.

      • Non-Discrimination rights: You have the right to exercise your rights under this Privacy Policy and other privacy rights guaranteed by the law, such as the right to access, delete, or opt out of the sale of their personal information.
