I walked into A-MAX Insurance on Midway looking like someone who has never understood a single adult responsibility in their entire life. My brain was in airplane mode. My thoughts were on strike. I was one confusing form away from giving up and moving into the woods. Then Ericka emerged from behind the desk like the customer service Beyoncé. This woman is so patient, I’m convinced she meditates in another dimension before clocking in. She explained everything to me slowly, kindly, and with the type of energy therapists charge $175 an hour for. I asked her a question. Then I asked the same question again. Then I asked a slightly rephrased version of the same question. And she STILL didn’t throw me out. Iconic behavior. She was informative, helpful, and somehow managed to turn “insurance terminology” into something my brain could digest without shutting down. That should count as a superpower. At one point she explained coverage using an example that involved a dramatic parking lot accident, a shopping cart with commitment issues, and a driver who definitely shouldn’t have passed their test… and suddenly I understood everything. Like my third eye opened but for car insurance. If you’re not getting your policy from Ericka at the Midway A-MAX, you’re not living life correctly. She made the whole thing so easy I left wondering if I should tip her. Management, if you see this: Give this woman a raise. A crown. A cape. A personalized parking spot. SOMETHING.
