The Power of Mentorship

After months of thinking about changing my life, on January 13, 2023, I decided to make the jump: leave everything I'd known and move from Chicago to Dallas. I had little idea what I was going to do. Leaving a big, worldly city for a smaller one didn't fully make sense on paper. But it made sense knowing this company would give me the direction and the foundational skills I needed to grow in digital marketing.

To me, Chicago stands for my family, my home and everything I've learned about the world so far. Sometimes in life, you have to take a leap of faith to get where you need to be. I knew that if I took the risk, no matter how it turned out, I would always look back on it and be grateful.

My boss, A-MAX VP of Marketing Tasha Willingham, is someone I see as a coach, and she shared advice with me that changed my life.

So what did I do? I put my trust in my coach and moved to Dallas.

Tasha is a picture of who I want to become one day. Her leadership skills, built with time, energy and hard work, are the ones I want to work toward.

But Tasha isn't just a leader or a coach to me. She's also a true marketing expert. There's so much to learn from her, and I got excited to see what could happen if I just took that risk.

Hearing Tasha and the other amazing women in leadership at A-MAX share how they overcame fear and self-doubt has given me the confidence that I can take those leaps of faith and succeed one day.
